live now

look what miss kenna can do!!! i was shocked when she raised her head up this high for a couple of reasons.

1. i am REALLY bad about giving her tummy time. in fact, she probably has been on her tummy less than ten times in her two months of life. now before you send me comments about how bad of a mother i am (ha, i know none of you would do that!), let me explain. i have to keep her upright for a good 30 minutes after she eats. so it's difficult to find a time when she is actually awake to put her on her belly. really.

2. as excited as i am to see her gain strength and control over her head, it also saddens me. i know from experience how quickly this time goes and with each milestone, my baby girl is growing up.

seeing kenna today, made me think of a conversation i had with some friends about how long it would be before we could take a "real" family vacation because of how little the kids are. we joked about how it would not be relaxing. you know, more work than it's worth. while there is much truth to that, i realized today that i was playing the waiting game...you know, waiting for the next big thing in life (like taking a family vacation or for greyson to play t-ball, etc.). God reminded me today to stop waiting for the next stage in life and LIVE NOW. this time is precious and i won't ever get it back. even though i can't do somethings because of the kids' ages, there are so many things that i can and am doing BECAUSE of their ages. i am blessed!

Thank you for the reminder. I needed to hear it and know that every moment will soon be a memory so I need to enjoy each of them.
