impromptu family fun...

at bass pro shops!  this morning we woke up and realized we had nothing planned for the day besides taking the kids up to the library to get their picture taken with santa. as soon as i mentioned taking a family trip to bass pro to santa's workshop instead, john was on board and so was greyson!

 

kenna kept telling me that she would sit on santa's lap and she did, but as soon as i sat her down she put out her arms and was calling "mama" and instantly got scared.  this is the photo they shot and i love it! the lady asked if i wanted to try to get one where she was smiling and i said no way.  i just love pictures of kids with their true reaction of santa.  :) 

 

 

both kids conked out on the way home after a fun, but long day.  greyson got a real bow and arrow (it just has a rounded medal tips instead of points, but yes, my husband is nuts!) so we had to go get targets from grandpa john and shoot it right away.  he did pretty well and just loves it. i'm so glad we were able to head out on a whim and enjoy the day!
