procrastination post...very random

where is summer going? i feel like it's absolutely flying by and i've even had an extended summer. :) we've had a busy few weeks doing all sorts of things. we've been to the zoo, had several cookouts, fight night (yes, that's all my husband's doing), helped friends move, and spent lots of time with friends and family. yesterday greyson and i went to kokomo to meet up with amanda smiley, a friend from college who now teaches in nc. it was great to see her and be able to catch up for a while. of course, i took my camera but failed to take any pics. :( i also met up with my brother to switch cars and take him out to eat. he enjoyed seeing greyson, even though he spits up on him every time trent's holding him. i think it's kind of funny.

all of our hard work on the garden is finally paying off. i was able to get green beans for the first time this week. we have so many that we are canning them today. we also have some cherry tomatoes and cucumbers. the peppers are very close to being ready too. having a garden has made me feel very domesticated. ha! i still think next year it's going to be half the size.

greyson cut his first tooth on july 16th. i had put my finger in his mouth to see if he was hungry and when he bit down it hurt. i knew there had to be a tooth! sure enough, one had popped through. it's hard to believe how quickly he is changing and growing. he's becoming a lot more playful, babbling all the time, blowing bubbles, etc. he's so much fun when he's not in melt down temper mode (which tends to happen almost daily). he's also started eating rice cereal. man, it's all going way too fast!

the other day i put him in his crib to take a nap and when i went to check on him ten or so minutes later this is how i found him. apparently he thought playing with his feet was more fun than taking a nap. isn't he just the cutest thing ever? his smile just makes me melt! a few weeks ago i bought him an exersaucer, knowing that it wouldn't be long before he could enjoy it. he does pretty well holding himself up, but gets tired of playing in it after five minutes or so. i love to watch him explore and try new things. if you look closely you can see the drool streaming out of his mouth.

okay, i think i've procrastinated long enough...sorry about all the randomness of this post, but i haven't updates since the end of june. wow! have a great weekend everyone!
