{can't get better than this}

we've had so much fun the last couple of weeks! we went to the splash pad in waky. i knew g and k would have fun and i thought graham and easton would too. they both cried and clung to us but eventually they enjoyed it. graham warmed up to the idea way faster than easton.  

john and greyson went on a fishing trip together with matt, landon, amos, and tyler. they had a great time even though the fishing was slow. the first night they were there greyson almost tipped the boat so john jumped in, sacrificing himself, so greyson and all the gear didn't go in. unfortunately, john's phone didn't come out alive so i don't have any pictures of their record breaking catches. while they were away, we had a sleepover with alicia, emerson, jess, and grace. we ate,  watched movies, and went for a swim. 

alicia and i had a chance to get a way for a long weekend together. our husbands always go and we never have so we thought it was time!  we went to myrtle beach where we rented a condo. it wasn't the nicest place we've ever stayed, but it wasn't the worst either. we were right on the beach and had a great view. everything went smoothly, except for our flight delay on the way home. it was wonderful making memories and relaxing together.

 danae drove down and stayed a few nights with us. it was so good to see her. we try to get together each time she comes home and we talk on the phone every once in a while, but it sure was nice to get to spend some time with her. we spent a lot of time on the beach and at the pool. we went to broadway on the beach where we had great food and went shopping. we also went to the boardwalk on the strip and we ate at pier 14. of course each night we watched movies.  it was very relaxing and so wonderful to get to spend time with these ladies. when i arrived home, john was exhausted (he still had to work thursday and friday so he only had them by himself on saturday and sunday).  i was glad it wasn't too easy for him. ;) haha!

jen helped me take all the kids to the fair on monday. we had a blast riding rides, eating, and checking out the animals. it's always fun to run into people too. next year greyson will get to be in 4h and he's already getting excited. john was a 10 year member and was set on having greyson do an animal, but i think i've talked him out of it. i guess we will see.

summer break is quickly coming to an end but we still have a few things planned in the coming weeks.  i feel so blessed having this time with my kids...it definitely can't get better than this!
