life lately

when i lay down at night, i'm not sure where my days have gone. they go by so quickly, yet i don't feel i accomplish much of anything. i'm soaking up this time i have with greyson and kenna and am enjoying every minute of it. we have been blessed with many visitors, meals brought by family, friends, and church members, and lots of lazy days where we don't even get out of our pjs until mid/late afternoon. maternity leave is grand! :)

greyson has been so helpful and loves his little sister. he loves to hold her, kiss her, and love on her. i thought maybe this would wear off, but he still wants to do all of those things multiple times a day! he is a great helper and will get me things i need for her. he likes to make up stories about how he changes her and feeds her and how she wakes him up at night. he is starting to be his normal self and not acting out. however, i'm realizing just how strong-willed he is now that i'm home with him everyday, all day. it's definitely a battle of the wills sometimes and he's learning mommy always wins! :)


since kenna sleeps so much, there is plenty of time for greyson and me to paint, play games, read books, and even play outside when it's nice. last week we got out his kite and flew it for the first time. greyson was so excited and loved chasing it and making it go up in the sky. i so badly wish i had another set of hands to capture the excitement on his face because he was having so much fun.


kenna is a perfect fit in our family. she is so easy going and isn't bothered when her brother tries to love on her. she still is a quiet baby and rarely cries. she sleeps very well during the day and has given me a few great nights. she has had some not so good nights too though-getting up every two hours. i know this too will only last a short time so i'm enjoying all the snuggling and cuddling i can get in the late hours of the night.

i'm so thankful for this time and for the amazing family God has blessed me with. i love them to pieces and look forward to our life together!
