greyson has been cracking us up lately. he comes up with the funniest things to say/do. here's a few of them that i want to remember...
~when he is told he's going to get a spanking, he's already learned to ask, "from who?" apparently, daddy spanks harder than mommy.
~today he was picking up toys and he sighed and said, "outta breath. take a break."
~this weekend we started really trying to potty train greyson (like making him sit on the toilet every 30 minutes or so, constantly asking, etc.). i thought i would try putting him in big boy undies so that way if he did go, he'd get wet and wouldn't like it. i NEVER thought i'd do this, because i think it's disgusting, but i figured if it only took one or two times of messing on my carpet, couch, etc., then it would be worth it. well he never messed on any of those things. instead, he went into the office and pottied on the plastic mats that we have under our office chairs. i was relieved because it was very easy to clean up and disinfect. well, later in the day, he was playing in the basement. he knew he wasn't supposed to get his pants wet, so under john's supervision (i just had to throw that in there) he pulled down his pants and peed all over the tile in the basement. i was astonished when i saw how much pee there actually was and that he was clever enough to pull his pants down and try to go. he made a rainbow with his pee, so it appeared that he was having some fun. we are learning just how stubborn our little g-bug is! however, i will win...he may be five, but i will win! :)
~he finally called the baby something else besides baby abigail. i think we are making progress!
~he gets so excited when babies are around. tonight in the nursery he tried to pick up a baby (who is almost one). she was too heavy and he dropped her. she of course started crying and greyson was so concerned. i think greyson is going to love his lil' sis!
~a month or so ago, i asked him what kind of birthday party he wanted and gave him the choices of elmo, mickey, or trains. very casually he responded, "how 'bout elephant party mommy?" an elephant party??? where does he even see elephants??? i tried asking him more recently to see what he'd say this time around and he still wanted an elephant party. so i guess i'm going to have to get creative and we're having an elephant party for his 3rd birthday.
i know there was more that i wanted to share, but they aren't coming to me at the moment. just typing this list has reminded me of what a blessing he is! i'm so thankful God chose me to be his mom!

How sweet! His "outta breath" comment cracked me up. You WILL get that child potty trained whether he wants to or not!
