john always goes into stealth mode during the christmas season because i have a way of figuring out my gifts. last year he went through the trouble of keeping my gift at his mom's until he went and got it on christmas eve. he doesn't even trust me enough to have it in the house (yes, i have given him reason not to...:)). he will only pay with cash or by the credit card that i do not have online access to (again, i've found out through the banking records). well this year i thought he had it easy because we were together when he got my gift. i already knew what i was getting so there was no reason for me to snoop and do the things i do to out smart him. well, it just so happened that he outsmarted me and figured out what i was getting him...i was a little disappointed because i had kept it a secret for months and he had no clue but i guess i deserved it...just a little.
well, today john went fourwheeling and when he came back he had the silliest grin on his face. he said he had a surprise for me and wanted to give it to me now. i stayed strong and said that i didn't want it (i thought he was teasing me after all). a few seconds later he came up from the basement with a brown box that had obviously come through the mail. it was still sealed and it did not say where it came from. as i opened it, i quickly realized it was the zoom lens i had wanted for my dslr. i have been playing with it nonstop tonight. i am very grateful for the gift, but i'm also grateful for the wonderful husband who went out of his way to surprise me with something i have really wanted for a long time.
i guess stealth mode paid off this time and i think i actually liked not knowing what i was getting for once...
