WOF pt. 2

friday night Sheila walsh also spoke. she was by far my absolute favorite. she evoked every emotion possible. she talked about Jesus' prayer at the garden of gethsemane. Jesus wasn't afraid to bear his soul to his Father. in matthew 26:38 Jesus told some of his disciples, "My soul is crushed with grief to the point of death." desperate situations sometimes make us feel like we can no longer go on-like we rather be dead than to continue in our present state. Jesus wasn't afraid to pray GET ME OUT, if it is your will. Sheila related this to our desperate situations where we feel like we can no longer cope, like there is no hope. she encouraged us not to hold back, but to tell Jesus exactly how we're feeling, to tell him everything and to unleash ourselves to him. sometimes this is hard to do when we're angry with God, but removing the masks and being real with God is the only way we will be able to cling to the hope that we have in Jesus.

it takes more courage to love God when things aren't going well than it does when everything is going perfect. what do you need to lash out with God about? what haven't you told him that you should? He wants to hear it...he's waiting with open arms.

It is amazing how honest we can be with true friends yet we hold back some of that honesty when we are in conversation with God. But isn't God our true friend?? Sometimes we treat him differently, but "call" him a close friend. God knows our heart and soul anyway so hiding doesn't do much :) Great message...thanks TONS for sharing!!!
