stephanie and bobby invited us up to their michigan lake house for some fun in the water. the kids always look forward to going and love tubing and paddle boarding. we had some delicious food and enjoyed the day together.
the boys had kindergarten night so they could meet their teachers and drop off their supplies. they were not overly excited and were quite unsure of everything. it did help calm some jitters though.
i planned a weekend away in cincinatti the weekend before school started. it probably wasn't the best idea as i still had things i should have been doing to be ready for school but i really wanted to go somewhere with the kids before summer slipped through our fingers. we went friday night and swam in the pool. saturday i was hoping to go to the zoo or aquarium but the kids wanted to go to bass pro. so that's what we did. at first i thought it would be cheaper but it definitely did not end up that way. we would have been better off going to the zoo or aquarium!
we ate at the cheesecake factory. greyson ordered chicken alfredo and i was thinking he was getting the lunch special. nope. $38 dollars later he had a huge portion. the leftovers fed all four kids the next day.
saturday night we went to the cubs vs. reds game. it was the twins first cubs game and kenna's second, and greyson's third. we had great seats about 15 rows up on the third base line. the kids took their glove hoping to catch a foul ball but none ever came close to us.
we headed to fishers on sunday to see the family (really bexley and tate ;)). the kids went swimming at toby and jen's while i snuggled little tate.
and just like that, summer came to an end. on tuesday greyson started middle school, kenna third, and the twins kindergarten. they all seem so big!
the twins have had a hard time adjusting to kindergarten. they were so sad and pathetic for the first few weeks. graham said he stares at the wall knowing easton is there because he wants to be with him. they cried and asked mr. cripe to call their grandma for the first few days of school during recess. they finally (after 6 week) said they like school a little bit. tears are happening less and less so we are definitely making progress.
kenna had her first facial from aunt jen. she sure is spoiled. i also got one and it was heavenly. my mom got an hour and a half massage while kenna and i were getting our facials. we went out to lunch afterwards. we've decided this needs to be a tradition every year after school starts.
