i am so thankful for the people in my life who love on my kids! while we were in california i was in a pinch and needed someone to watch the three youngest so my mom could be with my grandma at the hospice house. i texted a co-worker and she said sure! not only did she watch them, but she took them to pizza hut and bowling. i was so thankful and the kids actually got to have some fun while we were gone.
a few weeks ago emily asked if they could take all four kids to valpo university to watch matt play in his baseball game (tim and jill were also going so she had some reinforcements). i thought they were crazy but they insisted so we said yes! the twins are obsessed with matt and he does so well with them. they forgot about the time difference so they arrived at the game an hour early. the twins kept yelling, "we love you matt!' while he was on the field. my kids couldn't stop talking about all the fun they had. it worked out perfectly too because john and i had to meet our realtor to see a house one more time and then we went to her office to write up an offer. we were so excited after looking at so many to think we were finally getting one. it had only been on the market three days and we went to the open house the day before. unfortunately, even though we offered full asking price, our offer was not accepted because they already accepted someone else's. we are giving up hope of getting one yet this summer.

greyson has been spending much of his time fishing. he's caught some big ones! he loves to fish and never tires of it.
all four kids took swim lessons at the same time. it was such a treat for me! ha! i actually got to talk to other moms for 45 minutes. graham and easton did well on the first day but the second day they refused to go. then they went for several days just fine, but then easton wouldn't go again. unfortunately for him, it was on the day they got to do the wibit so he didn't get to do it.
this summer has been a good mixture of work and play. although i'm quickly losing motivation and don't have everything checked off my list. greyson taught the twins how to feed and water remi. it's a win win for everyone because the twins think they are big stuff and greyson doesn't have to do it all the time. kenna has been begging all summer to make slime so i finally bought the items we needed. of course, i haven't seen her play with it sense and graham and easton's is already in the trash.
we traveled to wabash to meet up with my college roommates and their kids. they had a great time playing outside and going down the slide onto tarps with water and soap. it was a great day of catching up.
every night the twins crawl in bed with me. i know one day i'll miss it, but it sure makes getting a full nights sleep challenging. every morning when i get up they end up so close to each other in a matter of minutes. i often wonder if they would sleep in the same bed if they would sleep all night. i think they like to be close to someone.
we've got a few weeks left of summer to enjoy...it's going by way to quickly!
