{sports and family fun}

kenna decided to try playing softball this year.  it was the first year that nappanee had a softball league.  there were only two teams and the kids ranged from first graders all the way through fifth graders.  kenna was very unsure at first and felt like she was horrible (rightly so...did i mention fifth graders were on her team!?!).  however, by the end of the season her confidence had grown and she ended up enjoying it.  one night after her game she said, "mom, i learned something.  you have to keep your eye on the ball and swing level.  if you do that, you'll get a hit."  it finally clicked for her. :)

greyson moved up to the majors which means kids were pitching.  he had great coaches who really taught the game.  greyson adjusted well to kids pitching.  his coaches also did a good job of playing the kids in lots of different positions.  greyson mostly played short stop or second base, but he also caught, and played outfield.  one time he even pitched an inning.  his team did great and won the championship.  he was so excited because last year his team came up short and were runner-up.

our days have been filled with friends, swimming, four wheel riding, bike rides, and the occasional library program.  kenna was called up to hold this snake.  i never thought she would do it, but she did.  i don't think i would have!

we're having a great summer!
