{birthday celebrations: easton and graham}

the boys birthday was on a sunday and john and i hadn't gotten their present yet.  so we called up aunt jen and asked her to watch the kids while we went shopping.  we knew we wanted to get them a ride on toy so we headed to warsaw.  we found exactly what we were looking for and excitedly dug into the box so we could assemble it and surprise them after church.  the first step required us to put the rear axle on.  it was no where.  we searched every where.  multiple times.  we thought we were going crazy.  john checked youtube for an unboxing of this particular ride on to see if we were just missing it.  unfortunately, we finally accepted the very first piece we needed to assemble the toy wasn't in the box. we were pretty disappointed.

we decided to show it to them on their birthday because we knew we'd never be able to keep them out of the barn.  they were pretty excited and handled it well that they had to be patient while we waited for the part.

we always let the kids pick where they want to eat on their birthday.  they chose dairy queen.  graham still wasn't feeling the best (i'm pretty sure he still had a fever in this pic :( ) but we decided to go anyway.  he needed out of the house.

i called the company and told them we were missing a part.  they didn't ask any questions and got it sent out promptly.  it arrived on wednesday but john didn't have a chance to put it together until friday.  unfortunately, he discovered we were also missing the bolts and some screws.  i don't know why we didn't inventory all the parts once we found out the axle was missing but we didn't.  thankfully on saturday the hardware store had everything we needed. he got it assembled and the temps were actually nice for january so the boys spent all day fighting over driving their new truck.  they thought it was pretty cool.

we had their birthday party with family.  a lot of people didn't make it but the boys still had a good time.  they got tractors and tractor shirts from uncle jamie and aunt ashley.  they went great with their tractor theme! dad built the boys a barn that they can use to play with their little tractors with.  they love it!

we had a great week celebrating the twins! happy, happy birthday!
