{more summer fun}

greyson finished football and basketball camp.  he got an award for 3rd place for a shooting contest.  he was pretty pumped.  

we decided to try out a new campground this time around that we had heard good things about.  i was excited because there was a playground that was right behind our campsite, which meant the kids could go and still be in our view from our campsite.  it was little so when other people came to play, they didn't' stay too long.  unfortunately, our kids didn't use it as much as i thought they would, either. the beach was closed due to all the rain the area had received in the past month.  it was completely under water.  many of the campsites were under water too.  we went on one of the bike trails, but they weren't maintained really well so it was challenging for the kids. the campgrounds did have some sites with amazing view, but overall i wasn't crazy impressed.  it might have been different if we could have used the beach.  we decided to take remi along camping.  we've  been too scared to try it before because we didn't know how he'd do, but he did great! the kids loved having him with us.  he will be coming along with us in the future because he did so well.  

greyson left the next day for church camp.  he stayed for four nights and five days!  he was a little apprehensive, describing his feelings as the best day and the worst day.  the best because he gets to go to camp, but the worst because he was leaving us.  i knew he'd have a great time and from all the pictures it sure looks like it was! bereket also went to camp this year so he was excited to have a friend go along.  he's always gone by himself before. we pick him up tonight and we are all so excited to have our family back together! 

jess and i went to football 101 at notre dame again this year.  we had some great food and drinks and enjoyed catching up.  it had been a long while since we've seen each other besides in passing at our kids games.  the event itself wasn't as good as the year before and there were a lot less attendees.  it happened to fall on my birthday...i'm 35! crazy!

kenna had silas over to swim and play.  they had a great time together and it was fun to see her interact with one of her friends.  they were already scheming their next play date.  too cute! 

kenna lost her third tooth this week.  the tooth fairy failed to come and when she was carrying her tooth to tell me she dropped it and we couldn't find it.  she was upset! so we went to martins for donuts and chocolate milk to cheer her up.  we wrote the tooth fairy a note explaining the mishap and she came through! kenna was so happy! 

it's been another great week! we love summer!
