{2016-2017 school year}

it's hard to believe that it is the end of the 2016-2017 school year.  kenna had a great first year of kindergarden.  she adored mrs. taylor and cried last night knowing it was the last day.  she says she is going to miss mrs. taylor sooooo much.  she loves reading and school in general and for that i'm grateful.

greyson had mrs. nunemaker.  he also really enjoyed having her.  he doesn't like school as much but still learned so much this year.  it was fun having him next door.  he would make his way over to say hi or to bug me when he was going to the bathroom.  he survived istep, even though he hated it.  he would much rather be outside playing, mowing, or digging something than be at school.

this year for me was different.  i had 27 kids in my class most of the year.  that's a lot of kids in one room! i often felt inadequate to meet their needs and it was difficult to really get to know some of the quieter ones. they were a great group of kids (mostly ;)). i prepared myself all year that it was my last.  there are lots of reasons but really it came down to simplifying life a little and we have done all the things we said we wanted to do financially so the time just seemed right.  it is tough working full time with four kids.  the twins are in a hard stage and take a lot of energy.  i felt exhausted most of the time (most of the year i was getting up between 6 and 8 times a night because of the boys) and felt like no one was  getting my best.  when it came down to it, i just couldn't quit.  i have mixed feelings, but for the time being, i'm meant to be a teacher.
