{financial freedom}

one of the things i love about my husband is how great he is with money. he had many life experiences growing up that shaped him and made him realize that he was not going to follow that same path he lived as a child. i'm very thankful for this and his wise decisions as he leads our family.

when we built our house it was very important to us that we didn't get carried away. we didn't want to be house poor and we knew we wanted to get it paid off as quickly as possible (our goal was 10 years). luckily for us, we built when the recession hit in 2008 and interest rates were extremely low. we also refinanced twice when interest rates continued to drop. because of this, we were able to send in our last house payment this month! it was such an awesome feeling! we are completely debt free!! we are looking forward to being able to give and bless others even more!

(yes, john thought I was a lunatic for making him get his picture taken  With the check but he was a good sport! ;))

That sounded weird, hope, not wish.

That is awesome! What a great feeling of freedom I'm sure. That is such a huge bill each month. It will be great not to have it anymore!
