I had the desire to put up my christmas tree this weekend. it took much self control and restraint on my part not to cave especially since the kids wanted to put it up too! to help combat my desire, we went out to eat at the warsaw hacienda. i'm always leery taking the twins to a sit down restaurant because it usually ends in a meltdown because they want to get up and walk around. and you can't just get up and leave when you want to, but we were feeling a bit adventurous and thought we'd give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised when they did wonderful! it was nice to enjoy the whole meal with four content children.
after eating, we went to meijer and shopped for toys and necessities to fill our shoeboxes. this is something we look forward to every year. kenna had a challenging time accepting that none of these toys were for her to keep, but greyson had a very giving heart. today we had a shoeboxing party and filled our boxes with all the goodies. kenna had a better attitude about giving these things away. i think it's important to teach them to be giving all year, but especially at christmas. this is one of my favorite traditions that we do every year and the start of our christmas season!
