{christmas part 1}

this first weekend of christmas break has been full.  greyson got sick in the middle of the night and couldn't go to school on friday.  he was bummed because of all the fun and he was supposed to sing in the school christmas sing with me and all the other teachers who have children/grandchildren at school with them.  he also had to miss out of our first christmas.  he wasn't too excited about that either.  john and kenna celebrated with john's dad and brother's family.  i don't have any pictures because john doesn't think about things like that! :)

saturday we had a fun day with our friends! we decorated cookies, went to hacienda, and to look at lights at center lake.  it's always a day we look forward to and we were thankful that greyson was better so the tradition could continue.  we missed landon (and matt), who had a fever, so he couldn't come. in between cookies and playing, john was wrestling greyson and he got his tooth knocked loose.  thankfully it was a baby tooth but greyson worked on it until it came out today.  he is missing both his front teeth and without even missing a beat he started singing, "all i want for christmas...".  too bad he put his tooth on the counter and it is now no where to be found.  he's lost 5 or 6 teeth and the tooth fairy has only had to come once because he keeps losing them!

on sunday we went to church and had a great time sharing life with our sunday school class and worshiping.  then we went to john's mom's house and had christmas with her.  she got the kids each one toy and then gave us money to ride on a buggy ride in shipshewana, a train ride in coldwater, mi, fair oaks farm tickets, and gift cards to walmart for gas and to buy picnic lunches for when we go to fair oaks.  sounds like we have several things planned for spring break and summer! :)

all is quiet now as the two older kids were in bed before 7! i'd say they were just a little worn out.  we are thankful for our family and friends and all the time we get to spend with them!
