{easter}

 in sunday school, the children have been learning about easter since christmas.  greyson hasn't said much about it, but one of his teachers warned me that he seemed pretty saddened by the story of Jesus' crucifixion on palm sunday.  i asked him later in the day what he learned in s.s. and he said he didn't want to talk about it, it was too sad and he was definitely choked up.  he finally talked more about it and he was flabbergasted how people could do this to Jesus.  he said, "my heart sank" when they told that story.  later, i read him an easter story and he had the same washed out look and wanted me to be done reading it.  then later in the week, they talked about the story at preschool.  greyson came home and said he didn't want to talk about it again.  i'm glad that he took this story to heart and it seems he is understanding more than he ever has.  his reaction had me wondering if i let it break my heart or if i just continue on my way.  i'd have to say it's more of the later.  God did the unthinkable, he gave His son to us, for us, so that we may live. easter is the foundation of my faith.  i'm so thankful for the resurrection and greyson's example of taking the story to heart.

since we were going to be out of state on easter, the easter bunny came early to our house.  greyson was less than thrilled with most of the contents of his easter basket.  i think his exact words were, "the easter bunny brings socks and underwear!?!" hahaha....yes, the easter bunny does and he didn't bring any candy! :) later in the day, he said, " mom, i know you're the easter bunny because you bought kenna's swimsuit." there's no fooling him!   santa, however, is a different story!

happy {belated}easter!
