{catch up post...kid edition}

can it really be february already?  i've been on a blogging hiatus and i blame that on my project 365. ;)  however, i wanted to make sure to document some of the things that have happened so far this year. 

 

we finally got a good amount of snow.  the kids were beyond excited and couldn't wait to go play in it as soon as i got home from work.  kenna upgraded to real gloves and was fascinated that the snow stuck to them.  she kept looking at them and saying, "snow, gloves...ohhhhhh."  she also discovered that she could eat snow.  

 

one of my co-workers mentioned that there aren't many pictures of greyson by himself on my blog and when i started looking, i realized she was right.  to be honest, he is not as fun to photograph as kenna! but i'm going to be more intentional about getting shots of just him.  unfortunately, he's a little tired of me always taking pictures and usually runs the other way or makes his neck stick out like a giraffe and then gives me that cheesy, eyes closed pose.  it was time to go in and i convinced him if he let me take some pictures he could stay out longer (don't worry, he had a hat on but i had him take it off for the pictures). greyson loves plowing with grandpa john and also loves to shovel...so much in fact he used his christmas money to buy a shovel that is all his. 

 
the other night the kids were snuggling on the couch.  i love how their relationship is growing and they actually enjoy playing with each other.  kenna is not afraid of anything and often does whatever greyson does.  this includes jumping from the couch to the ottoman and landing head first on the floor.  they both just giggle and get up and do it again.  well, until one of us catch them doing it and tell them to stop. 

greyson finally had his extensive dental work done today after six months of it dragging on.  i'm so thankful it's over and never want to experience putting a child under again.  it was horrible and it felt like the longest two hours of my life.  thankfully john was able to be there too so he kept me sane as we were waiting.  greyson was pretty grouchy and in pain for the first hour after the procedure.  he kept saying he would never go to the dentist again and asked over and over again why they had to give him a shot.  he is not a fan of shots!  thankfully as the day progressed, he returned to his cheerful self.  we spent most of the day in my bed watching nextflix.  he thought it was pretty cool he got to eat ice cream for lunch, in bed!  grandma suzie and grandpa john bought him a transformer for being such a trooper and we also let him open up one of his remote control cars that he got for christmas (remember he got six of them so we're spacing them out!!).  i think those things helped him forget about the pain, at least temporarily.  we have to keep him medicated for the next three days and were told the worst of it will be sunday night/monday morning.  my heart goes out to parents of those who are suffering from something much greater and have to endure this pain over a child day after day. i don't know  how they keep strong.

kenna is saying more and more each day.  some of her favorite phrases include,"no wayyyy," "idonnnooo" (i don't know) as she shrugs her shoulders.  she also is in the habit of saying now after other words.  for example, "drink now."  she's learning that in order to get what she wants she has to say "drink peeeze" but it sure is taking her a while to get that through her head. 

greyson is loving preschool and is always asking to have friends over.  he is learning so much and has almost all of his letters down and some sounds.  he really has come a long way.  i thought he was never going to learn them because he wasn't at all interested.  he loves to write his name and paint.  i still can't get over the fact that he will be five in march. 

my heart is full...i love these two!
