last weekend we braved the cold and went to new york-aka nibco water and ice park in elkhart-to ice skate with the fallers. the rink is right by the river and greyson insisted that we were in new york. i think one of his movies takes place in new york, so even if we would tell him we were in elkhart he would say, "no, new york" so we eventually just went with it. i'm sure we sounded pretty strange to the people around us! the rink is a very kid friendly place and fun was had by all. we started out the kids with regular ice skates not knowing they had double bladed skates. they did fairly well but needed to hold our hands the entire time. once we switched greyson got the hang of it right away and insisted on skating by himself the rest of the time. we had a great time!

last year after christmas i purchased clear ornaments on clearance with the idea of making my students an ornament for their present. i wasn't sure what i was going to do, but i had seen several cute ideas in blogland. once i saw this on pinterest i knew i had to do them. they were really easy and are so sparkly. and the best part is, the glitter is on the inside so there's no mess. :) i love them! i hope the kids do too.
i still have two more days of work and then all the festivities begin. i am completely exhausted and can't wait to have some down time with my kids. it's always a glorious two weeks! :)
