christmas is full of family, friends, celebrations of Jesus' birth, and traditions. this christmas was no different except that many of our family traditions went out the window this year. usually we get up, read the birth story from the Bible, make sleigh and santa shaped pancakes, and then get our picture as a family in front of the tree. none of that happened this year! we even went to church without eating breakfast and greyson was "starving" by the time church was over...whoops!

greyson was the first to wake up and was so excited to see what santa brought him so john let him open his gift before kenna was even up! once greyson opened his gift from santa, he didn't even want to open any of the other gifts. he'd been waiting forever for this gift...it's all he said he wanted...and he was delighted when he ripped away the wrapping paper and discovered santa had listened, and brought him DRUMS!

we had a great first christmas as a family of four. even though traditions were broken, we did what was most important. we celebrated Jesus' birth and spent time worshipping Him on that glorious Christmas morn.
