gfs christmas party

we made the annual trip to grand rapids this past weekend for john's business meeting/christmas party. as always, the food was delicious, the entertainment was fun, and we stayed the night this year which made it all that much better! it was nice to get away for a night without having to chase around a toddler, without rushing from here to there, and to just be.

the main entertainment of the evening was sinbad (yes, the comedian/actor guy). he was really funny, although i couldn't help but think how much older he looks. i guess he has been around for a long time.

after that we chose to go to the sawyer brown concert. i didn't recognize his name, but i did recognize many of his songs. he did some christmas songs too and they were great! all original songs that really captured the true meaning of christmas.

thankfully we didn't get any of that bad weather they were calling for and had no trouble getting home on sunday. it was a terrific get-a-way!

It's so nice to get away every once in awhile. I think it makes you appreciate the little ones even more! ;)

No Sinbad for Central States--we had an 80s music band--after ZZ Top and KISS. Central States Leadership dressed up as ZZ Top and KISS--it was hilarious! (We didn't know it was them until the end of the song).
