christmas day

christmas is always one of my favorite times of the year. i love the twinkling lights and decorations, the extended time with family and friends, the time off from work, the celebration of Jesus' birth, the music, and the cheerfulness that seems to be everywhere you go. this year was exceptionally wonderful, though. i loved watching my little boy open gifts and see his excitement! he figured out pretty quickly that everywhere we went, he got presents and he was very excited about this.
we put cookies and milk out for santa on christmas eve. greyson was very excited when he saw that santa had eaten all the cookies and drank the milk.
we listened to the story of Jesus' birth and then we opened our gifts.
we had our traditional christmas breakfast of bacon and santa, sleigh, and stocking pancakes.
after that we opened our stockings and played with all the toys that santa brought. it was a great time, just the three of us.

(this was taken before i got dressed, did hair or make-up...sorry!)
i did not take my camera to any of our other christmas' this year (i think i did this subconsciously because i am behind with my scrapbooking, and taking pictures at every christmas would mean scrapbooking every christmas). we had a great time though at the hummel, wright, mast, hoffer, and davis christmas'. :) all the grandma/pa's and aunts/uncles got greyson waaaaaay too many gifts.
a few of his favorites are the 'pliano' that aunt jenni got him, his 'puters' (iXL and leapster 2...i'm trying to get him to forget about the leapster 2 so i can hide it and save it for when he's older...it's not working so far), fireman gear, paint, and his tool bench. here is a picture of our tree with some of our opened goodies from all our christmas'. we had a wonderful christmas!!
