lessons from a one year old...

greyson is at such a fun age and is teaching me things every day. last night we were going through our nightly routine. i was holding him and he was drinking his milk. all of a sudden he took the cup away from his mouth and put it between his legs. then he picked it back up to take another sip. he repeated this process several times. i couldn't figure out why he was doing this and then it finally dawned on me...he was being like his daddy.
john frequently will have a drink in the living room and will put it between his legs because there isn't really a convenient place to put it without quite a bit of effort. greyson has seen this often and must think this is what you do with your drink when you aren't drinking. i found greyson's behavior odd, but he thought it was normal...he was being like his daddy.
to the world, the things i do might be considered odd. but as a follower of Christ, i am called to imitate my daddy. i've learned that it's not always easy, and there are times when i struggle to let Christ shine through my actions, words, and attitudes, but God's teaching me...to be just like my daddy.
And you should imitate me, just as I imitate Christ.
I Corinthians 11:1
