we went on a date...

and came home with a four wheeler. yes, you read that right. john decided he was going to plan this date and keep it a surprise from me. we went to olive garden (my fav) to eat and then we were headed to the river to walk or rollerblade. this is something i've wanted to do since we got married and have never done it so i was really excited and surprised john would plan this. we just happened to drive by a four wheel dealer and john wanted to go in and look. owning a four wheeler has been one of john's dreams for a long, long time and we've talked about it a lot but had decided to wait for a few years more before we bought one. well, little did we know, we'd see one we both liked and got a great deal on it. sooooo, we bought it. our date definitely didn't go as planned and we never made it to the river to walk/rollerblade, but seeing the smile on john's face makes it worth missing out on the last half of the date. he has enjoyed riding it and taking greyson for some spins around the yard. he even got up and rode it this morning before heading to church. i have to admit, i like it too...i think it will be awesome when trails are cleared in the woods (which is what john is doing this very moment!). i see us having lots of fun family and friend times with this thing!! :) God is good and we are grateful for his blessings! :)

john is taking vacation this week from work. we had planned on going camping for one night, to cedar point, and possibly deep river but we didn't plan very well. VBS is this week also and we are leading the games so we have to be here every night. if we would have realized that, john would have taken next week off. we know we'll be blessed through VBS, but we were a little bummed when we realized it. maybe the four wheeler will keep us entertained enough that we won't even miss the trips we had hoped to take.

Congrats on the 4 wheeler! I can honestly say I've probably been on a 4 wheeler twice in my life. Also, a bummer about not being able to take your trips, but I bet you'll have a great week at home! :)
