vacation week!

john has been on vacation all week and it has been so nice to have him home!! he has joined my mom and me on our morning walks, we've spent some time bike riding, four wheeling, swimming, and laying around. :) we did take wednesday off from vbs and headed to cedar point. we haven't been for three or four years and were reminded very quickly that we are getting older. both of us were exhausted and ready to come home at 6! we enjoyed each others company and were glad we could sneak away to enjoy some great rides and each other. tonight was also another highlight-we were able to enjoy sweet corn out of our garden for the first time! it was delicious!! this means my mom and i will have to start freezing the corn soon since we have nine rows of corn.

the week has gone way too quickly but john is ready to get back into the swing of things and i will also be starting to go into my classroom next week to get things ready for the upcoming year. i'm not dreading it, but i'm not ready to go back at the same time. i guess all good things must come to an end... ;) it's been a fantastic summer to say the least! i'm very grateful for the time i have off to spend with my family and friends.
