our summer has been full of sports and camps. greyson got to go to wisconsin dells with the wrestling team and competed against kids from around the country. he went 2 for 4 and he was pleased with this. the team got to hit up a water park and amusement park while there. greyson wasn't really looking forward to going but he had a great time once he got there. he just likes to be home.
kenna had here year end robotics party. the kids all swam and then they had awards. it's been unusually rainy around here so jake asked if we would be the back up location for the awards if it rained. we had some major cleaning to do in the basement in case we'd have to host. the kids were not excited but it needed to be done and i kept putting it off so this was great for me as it forced me to get it done. we went through the toys and got rid of so much. the basement never looked so good. thankfully the weather was okay and we got to have it at the original location. it sprinkled off and on but never got too bad. kenna had fun swimming with her friends.
greyson had his final season of baseball on the city league as he will be too old next year. he took the mound for the first time this season. it made me a nervous wreck! he improved so much by the end and he had fun pitching. when he wasn't pitching he was behind the plate. his team was in first place for the regular season and took first place in championship. he also got to play in the all star game and had a lot of fun. he loves baseball and wants to tryout for the travel league next year.
kenna was fortunate enough to go to two summer camps. she went to YCL and to NMC's camps. church camp is the highlight of her summer. greyson went to NMC's camp. he wasn't really looking forward to going (again, he just likes to be home) but he had a great time. i'm glad they have these opportunities to grow closer to God and make new friends. i always loved camp!
