john has always been a dreamer. he sees things long term. he goes after what he wants and makes it happen. i've seen it time and time again whether in his career or with our family. on august 7th, he made another dream come true...we bought a lake house (the same house we put an offer on two years ago)!
we put the offer in at the end of may but agreed on closing on sept. 21st because the owners had it rented out most of the summer. the last renter had it rented from the beginning of august until sept. 18th. luckily for us, he backed out because of covid so the owners asked us if we wanted to move up closing. we were very grateful and it happened the friday before i had to be back at work so the timing couldn't be more perfect.
the house was turn key and they left everything. all we had to do was bring clothes and toothbrushes. it came with fun toys like a paddle board, two kayaks, and a fishing raft/boat thing. we haven't made too many changes other than taking down the hanging swing chairs (which the kids loved, but already broke one). it's super tiny and i can clean it very quickly.
we've done a lot of entertaining of friends and family already. we've learned to ski, wake board, and knee board. each kid seems to have their thing that they really enjoy. greyson is the skier, kenna likes wake baording, easton likes the kneeboard, and graham likes to fish (but still will get on the tube and kneeboard). it's been so much fun and even as the warm days are coming to an end, the boys are looking forward to ice fishing this winter and playing on the ice.
