{the frozen tundra: aka indiana}

this week we experienced less than warm weather.  the high was -47 with windchill.  needless to say, we were out of school for three days.  we couldn't really go anywhere so we had lots of fun being stuck inside. 

greyson and kenna and i played some rounds of a new to them game: phase 10.  we couldn't get john to play this with us-he's not much of a game player and phase 10 lasts forever. the kids loved it and have asked to play again.  we also read many chapters from the third Harry Potter book.  we are reading through the series together and watching the movies together.  they both got out of the house a bit too.  greyson went to jonahs and spent the night and kenna went to grandmas. 

the twins got some new games for their birthday so we played many rounds. 

 kenna decided to make her own valentine's this year so that kept her busy for a while. 

 i brought some snow inside for the twins to paint with food coloring.  i took my eyes off of them for a second and they dumped the entire cups on the snow.  their hands are stained green and blue.

 we got out the wii (i don't think it's been touched for four or five years). the boys loved mario kart.  we also played a carnival game.  unfortunately, our wii sports game is scratched so we couldn't play it.  we have some other games but they are still pretty challenging for the boys. 

on wednesday night easton woke me up around 12:30. he has been sick all day today (thursday).  he can't keep anything down.  he feels pretty miserable.  

graham on the other hand had lots of energy.  i tried to keep him busy by baking and decorating some left over christmas cookies. i am taking them to my class to enjoy because we don't need them all! 

he was a great helper.  and quite proud of himself too!  

the temps are supposed be a bit warmer for tomorrow so it's looking like we'll be back in school.  i think we all are ready.  it's supposed to be 50 on sunday.  crazy indiana weather!
