we spent fall break in bloomington. we wanted to head south with the hopes that it would be warmer. the weather was nice...warm during the day but cold at night. we stayed at paynetown recreational area because the other places were already full. we had no idea what it would be like. we've never camped without friends so i wasn't sure if we'd be bored out of our minds with just us or not. 😜greyson did not want to go but we all had a good time.
our campsite was interesting. the fire ring and table was at the end of our trailer and then there was a woods. the kids found vines and swung from them. they loved exploring. i would love to go back and get a site right on the water. the views were beautiful!
we took the old school nintendo and it was perfect for the kids to play at night and in the morning when it was a little chilly to go outside. we also played lots of games and even did some reading.
we carved pumpkins, went for hikes, walked by the beach, watched sunsets and sunrises, and enjoyed the fire. it was beautiful even though the leaves were just starting to turn.
we wanted to visit the campus so we met up with stephanie, a childhood friend, for lunch at mama bear and then got a tour of campus. on the way, we got in a small fender bender. thankfully there wasn't damage to the other vehicle, just ours.
i also roasted the perfect marshmallow. so there's that! :) kenna was mocking me and wanted her picture taken with a marshmallow too. our camper is now put up and won't be out again until the spring. hopefully next year we can go more than three times!
