{spring break: part 2}

thursday we headed to ripley's believe it or not as a whole family.  john was feeling better (not great) so he came with.  we had fun seeing and exploring the crazy things in the museum.  we also save the world by keeping the wolves from taking over the world. kenna, graham, and easton were a little scared of this interactive shooting game, but it was pretty short so they did fine, despite talking about it for days. whoops! we took the challenging of getting out of the mirror maze. it took us quite a while.  it was fun but we kept getting turned around.  one time we thought we found our way out only to realize we were at the start again.

we spent the afternoon/evening at the beach.  the kids loved playing with the balls that greyson won.  graham would run as fast as he could, jump head first on the ball and get thrown off the other side. it was too funny! then they buried most of it and used it as a trampoline.  we played football, baseball (the kids needed gloves and cleats for practice after spring break so we went to dick's sporting goods and got everything), and of course there was a lot of digging and playing with the sand.

i just love my little beach boys! graham is on the left and easton is on the right.

kenna and i got a pedicure.  she says this is her favorite part of the trip.  apparently, we could have just went to goshen instead of florida.  😄

our last full day in florida we got up and went for a walk. the days started off chilly but by the time we were headed back we had all taken off our sweatshirts.  it was so peacful and empty in the mornings and evenings on the beach.  the water was so blue and the sand was perfect.

john and greyson rented a jet ski (i forgot my phone in the condo so i didn't get any pictures) and we bought greyson a skim board so he spent all day learning how to do it without falling.  i was impressed with how long he stuck with it.  he made a friend who helped teach him and by the end of the day, he had done it pretty well several times. he can't wait to go to lake michigan to use it again this summer. the jet ski was a highlight for him too.  john let him drive so he thought he was big stuff.

that night we went to a hibachi grill.  everyone enjoyed watching the chef do his tricks but the three littles didn't eat much.  it was an expensive meal that mostly got thrown away. i don't know what we were thinking when we decided to go there.  it was a fun experience nonetheless.

saturday morning we left around 9.  we drove straight through and made it home at 2 am.  john drove the entire trip and i stayed awake for all but the last two hours.  i was going crazy because the kids were going crazy.  we ran into several accidents and had to go pretty slow three or four times.  it seemed like the trip would never end.  i was so excited when they fell asleep and it was actually quiet.

overall we had a great trip.  i was so thankful we found something so last minute and was pleased with the location and condo.  it was nice to get away and all be together making lasting memories. i'm already dreaming of our next vacay.  😍
