we had a super busy week leading up to easter. this year, easter fell on the kids birthday weekend so we had lots of family time and celebrations. we did a brunch and it was nice. it was able to have different types of food. kenna and greyson got some great gifts. greyson loved his cement truck that my dad made him out of wood and his 22 that he got. kenna loved her mannequin head that she can do her hair and her bible that she can color in.
kenna also had her first grade concert. we sat way in the back so i didn't get any great pictures. i secretly, or maybe no so secretly hate these school concerts. i may have talked kenna into skipping hers. i hated them when i was a child too.
our church gave us a resurrection garden to make as a family. each night we read a scripture and added something to our garden. it was a great way to help our family focus on the true meaning of easter. the kids looked forward to it each night.
each year we go to gma barbs and color eggs and have an egg hunt. the kids always look forward to this special time. it's getting less and less chaotic as the kids get older. it was pretty nice outside so the kids spent a lot of time running around the yard and climbing trees.
my mom turned 60 and my dad did a great job throwing her a small surprise party. i think he called me at least 100 times to ask questions and to make sure i'd done everything he asked. he also worked for weeks and fixed up her old schwinn tandem bike for her. she was so surprised. we told her we expect to see her riding it all summer long!

on sunday we had to help with the breakfast so we dropped the three youngest off at mom and dads and headed to church. we had a good turnout and the service was great. the kids did a good job singing their song they've been working on for many weeks on wednesday nights. they also had an egg hunt after service.
jen made easter lunch for all of us since the boys were still here. then we headed for florida! it was a great, but busy easter weekend.
