the week before school starts is always a busy time. i'm trying to get my classroom ready and tie up all lose ends at home. pretty much i have to do everything i've procrastinated on all summer. ;) i scheduled for the carpets to be cleaned and decided on a whim to take the kids to the fort wayne zoo so the carpets could dry without us trampling all over them. i spent lots of time praying that i'd have cooperative, happy kids, and off we went. we had a lot of fun, some stressful moments, and some not so good attitudes at times. it was no easy task taking all four kids by myself and i don't know that i'd do it again for quite some time! however, God was with us in the details as He provided a close parking spot, a picnic table right by our car, no potty accidents, and kids who mostly stayed with me. of course we went when the humidity was insane and the temperature was in the 90's. not the best planning on my part. ha!
we spent a lot of time with uncle dave and aunt ruth because their grandson kai was here from california. kai loved fishing and he and the kids got a long really well. my cousin eric even flew in for a weekend so we were blessed with his presence as well. it's always good to connect with family.
for lexi's second birthday aunt lori rented an inflatable slide. the water was cold but that didn't keep the kids from enjoying it.
it was a great last week before school started-even if it was a little crazy!
