{spring break 2015}



spring break is finally here! we started our vacation by going to indianapolis and staying at trent's house.  we left thursday right after school.  toby and jen came to trent's to play with the kids before we sent them off to bed.   friday morning we headed to the children's museum.  we were able to walk right in and had an enjoyable time.  we thought it might be overly crowded but surprisingly it wasn't.  we had a great time looking at the exhibits and playing!  greyson loved the transformers exhibit and kenna loved it all.  

 

 

 we played in the playscape for a long time.  the twins wore themselves out as you can see in the picture below.  we were lucky enough to be there when there was a music "class" going on so kenna and i participated while the boys continued to play.  it was neat to see kenna in a different environment with kids she hasn't ever seen before.  she even raised her hand to answer some of the questions.  i was some what surprised because she can be really shy. 

after the children's museum my future sister-in-law came and picked up me and kenna so we could go flower girl dress shopping.  we went to several bridal stores and kenna loved trying on all the different dresses. of course the one we really loved was going to take 20 weeks to come in and you couldn't rush this particular brand.  since it wouldn't be here in time for the wedding, we had to go with a different one.  i didn't take any pictures. :(  

 

saturday we went for a walk, colored eggs, and then had an egg hunt.  the kids had fun and it was a gorgeous day! we also dined at qdoba for the second time while on our trip.  that is one of my favorite places to eat...it would make my day if we got one around here! 

 on sunday we celebrated easter at church and the kids had another egg hunt.  they got a good amount of candy.  kenna cracked me up because she said she was done hunting because she thought she had enough.  of course, there were still hundreds in the yard to be found.  we went to heritage to eat Easter lunch with my family, lori, savannah, amy, and grandma. 

i LOVE these bags.  i ordered one for easton and graham too. i never did get pictures of them with the stuff the easter bunny left because all four kids weren't home at the same time so they opened them as they were there.

graham started getting sick on monday. i chalked it up to teething.  he didn't sleep through the night all week.  he was irritable, had a runny nose, and didn't eat much.  he was pulling at his ears but he always does that so i didn't think much of it.  i finally decided to take him to the doctor today (saturday) because he didn't seem to be getting any better.  the dr said he ruptured his left ear drum and had an infection in the other one. i felt so bad i hadn't taken him sooner.  he's now on antibiotics so hopefully he will be back to his happy go lucky self soon! it's been a long, sleep deprived week!

since he was under the weather we really didn't go anywhere all week.  it rained a lot but when it was nice we were outside playing and jumping on the trampoline-which was the best purchase ever! the kids LOVE it and spend hours on it.  by friday i was going stir crazy so i decided to take kenna and greyson to see cinderella at the movie theater.  we enjoyed the movie and popcorn.  of course, i had to treat them to DQ after the movie (this was more for selfish reasons-have you had the salted caramel truffle blizzard? amazing i tell you, amazing!).

kenna was crying because she told me she wanted a caramel shake when she really wanted what aunt jenni always gets her, a moolatte...and the fact that it was almost 10 at night!

greyson had a friend over today and they played hard all day.  it was fun to watch them interact and figure out what to do (they were having difficultly deciding because they wanted to do it all ;)). they were even nice to kenna and let her play with them some.  it was a perfect day to be outside enjoying the sun!

there's one more day to enjoy before heading back to work.  after church i'm treating myself to a mani/pedi and then going to the movies with some good friends.  even though we didn't go anywhere spectacular, we made lots of memories and enjoyed the time we had together.
