{christmas 2013}

december is such a busy month with lots and lots going on.  i managed to do most of my shopping online which was extremely nice not to have to fight the crowds or endure comments like "are you sure you have time to be out shopping?"  or "let me guess, you are having a boy, and i give you three days until he's born." yes, complete strangers actually made these comments to me.  sometimes i go into it and tell them i'm having twins and other times i smile and continue on my merry way.

anyway, we of course had many christmas' to attend this year.  we started out with john's annual christmas party in grand rapids.  we had a good time despite the snowy road conditions and the late night. as usual, the food was delicious and the entertainment did not disappoint.  they brought switchfoot in for the main event.  it was awesome!! so of course we had to stick around for that even though we were driving back to nappanee the same night. we planned on coming home so we could see greyson in his church concert but he ended up being sick so we didn't even get to go to church. 

we had great celebrations at john's mom's, grandma's, and brother's, along with christmas with my family (we even got to meet my brother's girlfriend!) and our annual friend's christmas. kenna was really into presents this year and is still asking when she gets to open more. the kids were spoiled (not by us...i intentionally scaled way back, so much in fact that the tree looked bare underneath, but the kids still were thrilled with what they got and didn't even notice!). i didn't take many pictures but that seems to be the theme for the second half of this year...once these babies are out of me, pictures will be back in full force!

another year full of blessings and thankfulness is coming to a close.  i'm excited to see exactly what life will be like in 2014!
