a little bit of everything

we've been back for three weeks now and i still feel like i'm playing catch up.  we've been super busy the past three weeks so i'm going to do some catching up on the good ol' blog. 

~a few weekends ago, i headed to indy to do a little goodwill outlet shopping with ashlie and jennifer.  i had no idea what i was getting into but we sure had fun.  we stayed the night in a hotel on friday and got up early to hit the stores.  it was humbling to dig through bins of stuff but totally worth it when i think about how much i got.  i spent a total of $65 and got 15 shirts, 1 pair of capris, 1 skirt, 1 pair of black boots, 2 running shirts, and 1 pair of shorts for me.  kenna got 1 sweatshirt, 2 shorts, 2 dresses, 4 shirts, 1 outfit, 1 snowpants, 2 winter coats, and 2  pairs of jeans.  greyson got 1 halloween costume, 5 shirts, 1 pair of shorts.  my dad got two pairs of shorts.  in addition to all the clothes, i got 8 books, 1 game, wine corks (tons for a project i saw on pinterest), 1 clipboard, 5 glass plates, 2 vases, 2 frames, and 32 christmas cards. many of the clothes were name brand...gap, loft, etc.  carmel and keystone goodwills have the goods! overall a very successful trip.  it was fun hanging out with the girls for the weekend too!

~my 5k is in three weeks.  i was going strong but then have taken a month off from running (i've still been doing the elliptical).  i realized the race is approaching so i made myself run last night.  i was able to run 2 miles at a 10 minute pace.  i could have gone farther but i figured i should ease into it.  hopefully three weeks is enough time to get back to where i was!

~our church hosted heaven's gates, hell's flames.  i was so disappointed we were not able to be in the drama because we were still in bvi.  however, we were able to see it on the final night.  we had over 700 people see the drama and 97 people recommit their lives or ask Jesus into their heart for the first time.  we've had lots of new faces in church the past few weeks.  it's been so reviving and refreshing.

~there's only 8 days left of school...YES!!! need i say more? i'm so excited to spend the summer with my kids! we've been spending so much time outside already.  kenna is just like her brother and loves being outdoors. 

~we ordered a table for outside on the deck. i can't wait for it to get here.  it will be so nice to eat out there all summer long. 

~after our trip john decided he was going to get a vitamix.  i have to say, i wasn't fully on board, but now i'm so glad that we did.  i had my first green smoothie the other night.  it had spinach, banana, pineapple, grapes, yogurt, and ice in it. it was delicious!  i think i'm going to be addicted...and the good thing is, they are healthy! 

~we had our first cookout and campfire of the season at the freed's.  so much fun! have i mentioned that i'm soooo ready for summer!?!
