some weekends come and go with not many events and others are packed full. this weekend was one of those weekends that were packed full. lots of time was spent deepening relationships, praying, celebrating, and laughing.
friday night we went to jake and ambers. they hadn't met greyson yet and decided it was long overdue. we went to their place where we talked, laughed, and spent time catching up on the happenings of our lives. jake made a wonderful soup that warmed us through and through. we had a great time getting to know them better.
saturday i got up bright and early to go shopping in fort wayne with my best friends from college. this was our second annual christmas day adventure...and that it was. the weather wasn't the greatest and on the way julie got into an accident. she had to be taken to the hospital and found out that her knee was shattered. she was definitely surrounded by angels and we spent time praying for her health and recovery. lish went to the hospital to be with her and to take her home. we were glad julie was okay, but very sad we didn't get to spend the day together. rach decided she better turn around and go home and managed to slide off the road herself. luckily she was close to home and her husband was able to pull her out. needless to say, our shopping day didn't turn out as planned and we've decided to make our shopping day earlier. it's been two years now that the weather has not cooperated!
saturday evening we celebrated with two amazing gals for their 29th birthday and one mediocre man (haha...just kidding matt!) who turned 31. we dined at hana yori's and then went shopping at khol's, dicks, and meijer. we also spent some time capturing our beautiful smiles in the falling snow.
sunday we had famiy night at church. we played family feud, had a relay race, sang carols, and ate some amazing food. there was lots of laughter as people had to do silly things...included me flying like a reindeer. i'm sure i looked pretty amazing prancing through the fellowship hall in front of everyone...:) i enjoy my church family and it was fun to have a relaxed, informal evening with my immediate family and extended church family.

i cannot tell you how very sad i am that our shopping trip was a disaster. it's so rare that we can all get together and i miss you all so much. i am thankful we all managed to stay safe despite the disasterous weather. i don't know about you...but i seriously saw about 20 vehicles that were wrecked or off the road. what a crummy day. anyway, i'm glad you were able to enjoy the rest of your weekend. we will definatly have to try to plan to get together over break. hope you have a great week!!
