i scheduled a fix to come on thursday so i had something to motivate me to make it through this long week-also known as parent teacher conference week. don't get me wrong, i enjoy talking with parents about their child. i gain much insight from meeting with parents and it's my time to brag on their child. it's the long hours that kill me and the fact that my own family is neglected. on top of conferences i have two bigger responsibilities this weekends for church, and i'm teaching wednesday night kids club, and well you get the picture.
while at conferences on tuesday night, john sent me a picture of my box that had arrived two days early! i was excited to get home and see what my stylist sent.
i read my note first and noticed i had a different stylist. i was bummed because i really liked my previous stylist. however, i think he did a good job and he paid attention to my note. i asked for slightly distressed jeans and a dress for my husband's Christmas party. he delivered on both items.
i like the jeans. they are super soft and fit well but they go up over my belly button and i'm not a huge fan of my pants being so high. i'm leaning towards returning them. they are also crazy expensive and since I'm not keeping every thing, i don't get the discount.
i loved this blouse and i loved it even more with the cardigan. the cardigan has interesting sides. i'm keeping both.
i didn't care for the dress or the shoes. i knew even before trying them on that i'd be returning them.
if you've been on the fence about getting a fix you should pull the trigger. it's so fun to see what they picked out for you. they also have a men's line. john got a fix a few weeks ago, but wouldn't let me take pictures. he didn't end up keeping anything (although he liked a few items but already had similar items and it was pricey) but he's going to give it another try sometime.
alicia and i have been taking the friday off after conferences ever since they changed to the tues/thurs conference schedule. we decided to go to grand rapids to shop and even decided to stay the night! we both were so excited and it definitely helped having something to look forward to. we dropped our kids off at school and drove to tanger outlets. we shopped all. day. long. we scored some great deals and had to make several trips back to the car to unload our bags. the weather was gorgeous-70 degree gorgeous! that night we went downtown to an upscale restaurant called reserve. we had delicious food and wine.
on saturday we went to a regular mall where we got some more great deals and then we went to nordstrom rack. they have several stitch fix brands and a fashion blogger we follow (and met in real life at her house last week...it was so fun!) always links great finds at nordstrom. well nordstrom rack is even better because everything is marked down. i found some distressed jeans there so i was glad i didn't keep the ones from my fix. the temps dropped overnight and the high was 34. it was snowing and by the time we came out of the stores there was some accumulation. we were thankful we went to the outlet the day before! it was a great night away and i have all my christmas and even some of my birthday shopping done for my kids and my niece and nephews!
